HUW COSTIN / TORN SAIL

At heart Huw Costin is a singer-songwriter inspired by the greats - Roy Harper, John Martyn, Nick Drake & Joni Mitchell, but with a bent for sonic experimentation and a wilful acceptance of a promiscuous muse. He's recorded with Mark Lanegan, Michael Chapman, Andre Lodemann, Stubb, Smith & Mudd and B.J. Smith. His main focus now and in recent years has been his band - Torn Sail.

Torn Sail is a British psychedelic alt-folk band fronted by Huw, perhaps better known for his work with Earth The Californian Love Dream, collaborations with left-field, disco artists Smith & Mudd, along with his own critically acclaimed solo albums Regrets (2009) and Something/Nothing (2013). Costin has also worked with Brian Eno & also Mark Lanegan, who contributes to the band’s recently completed debut album. Lanegan described the album as a masterpiece.
